I thought this recipe was perfect for halloween. I tried it myself and they're quite good. The recipe is scaled for 36 servings- just enough to hand out on halloween night unless of course you decide to eat them all. Enjoy!^^
--------------------------------------------------
Ingredients:
1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons white sugar
3 egg whites
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, melted

Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg whites, one by one, mixing well after each addition. Add flour and vanilla. If dough seems too soft, add more flour.

2. Force through a pastry bag or cookie press with a medium star tip onto lightly buttered cookie sheets. Make each cookie about 3 inches long (or slighly bigger if you want a big cookie).

3. Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) until straw-colored (about 10 minutes). When cool, dip one end of each cookie in 4 - 6 squares melted chocolate and place on wax paper until chocolate hardens. Store in a cool place.
